Watershed Interpretive Education Exhibit

The Klamath Watershed Partnership has completed a new watershed exhibit at the Visitor Center located at 205 Riverside Drive, Klamath Falls, Oregon. This is two of a four part series of interpretive education exhibits at the Visitor Center.

The theme of the exhibit is "What is a Watershed?" The exhibit features a picture taken from the Linkville Estates overlooking the Klamath Lake and Link Trail, which provides a good understanding of how everything flows downhill into our waterways. It has pop out pictures of animals, birds, plants, etc., and provides information on what their role is in a watershed. This display runs through September 30, 2011 and then will be replaced by an exhibit on "What is a Watercycle?"

Other partners on these interpretive education exhibits are the Wingwatchers, Inc., City of Klamath Falls, Klamath Outdoor Science School, Basin Refuges, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and the Ducks Unlimited.

Several teachers have brought their students and rsidents from the El Dorado Heights Senior Center have come to the Visitor Center to see the display and get a presentation from partners on the project. After the presentation, visitors quite often take a walk along one of the nearby trails to look at much of the information that is part of the dispaly, making it a complete education trip.

If you would like a tour of the wateshed exhibit, contact Ginny Monroe at gmonroe@klamathpartnership.org or 541-850-1717.
