Klamath Watershed Partnership Appoints New Director

KLAMATH FALLS, OR - MARCH 26, 2008 - The Klamath Watershed Partnership is pleased to announce the selection of Terry Morton as the Executive Director. The Partnership is a nonprofit organization formed by the recent merger of the Klamath Watershed Council and the Klamath Basin Ecosystem Foundation.

Terry has lived in Klamath Falls since 1981, and has worked for the past 18 years as a management consultant, facilitator and mediator. She has been involved with Klamath Basin water issues over the past five years and has a good understanding of the problems of water quantity and quality in the Basin, as well as associated restoration strategies.

"What draws me to the partnership is the opportunity to really integrate things that we have often thought of as competing priorities: the environment and agriculture", said Terry. "With creative strategies, it really is possible to find common ground and sustain both, for ourselves and for our children."

The mission of the Klamath Watershed Partnership is to conserve, enhance and restore the natural resources of the Klamath Basin, while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the regional economy and local communities.

The partnership is governed by a 19-member board of directors representing the diverse points of view in the Klamath Basin. The directors and staff are passionate, committed people with a long-term stake in the health of this community and the watershed that supports it.

More information is available on the website: www.klamathpartnership.org, and at the office 700 Main Street, Suite 202, (541) 850-1717, in downtown Klamath Falls.
